TCG Playmat & Surface FAQ

Why should I use a playmat for TCGs like Pokémon or MTG?

Playmats provide a clean, soft surface that protects your cards and sleeves from dirt, scratches, and rough table surfaces. They also make it much easier to pick up cards during gameplay.

What is the benefit of a stitched edge playmat?

Stitched edges prevent the top fabric layer from peeling or fraying over time, significantly extending the life of your mat. Our premium mats feature flat stitching that won't catch your sleeves.

How do I clean my TCG playmat?

Most playmats can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. For deeper cleans, many are machine washable on a cold, gentle cycle, though we always recommend checking the specific manufacturer's instructions.

Can I buy oversized or XL playmats?

Yes, we stock a variety of sizes, including XL mats from Gamegenic that are perfect for games with large board states or for use as a desk mat.

Can I pick up a playmat in-store?

Absolutely. You can choose to collect your order from our Aberdeen hub or our new Edinburgh store at 79 Shandwick Place, which opens in late April 2026.
