以前のオリジナルと同様に フォレストシャッフル、 フォレストシャッフル：ダートムーア プレイヤーは、木や低木を配置し、それらの場所に種を誘致して動植物にとって生態学的にバランスの取れた生息地を作り出すことで、最も価値のある環境を構築することを競います。

新機能 ダートムーア 水平に配置される地形カードの導入は、樹木や低木とは異なる種の生息地や餌場として機能します。地形の性質上、種は地形カードの上下にのみ配置できます。鹿などの種は、荒野の沼地や泥炭地帯には近づきません。彼らは水を必要としますが、住居や小川のそばでは安全ではないと感じるでしょう。そのため、プレイヤーは自分の種をどこに配置すべきか注意深く考える必要があります。
